Create an AWS Credentials

Sign in to aws console and create a new IAM user. Add EC2 full access permission for that user. We will be using EC2 server. After creating a IAM user, copy the access key and secret and return to Forge.

Create the AWS credential with access key and secret you created from AWS. This credential will permit forge to directly access your AWS EC2 to create the server.

Setting up AWS Server

Set up the server according to the requirement of your application.

Once you hit ‘Create Server’, it will automatically create a new server on AWS EC2 and it will provision as well. A popup will appear so make sure you copy the sudo password and the database password too. You will be needing it later.

Wait until it finish provisioning. It will take 10-20mins or more to finish the setup.

Once the server is created, hit the icon to set the connection.

If connection is successful, you have successfully setup your aws server. In addition, you can update your server disk volume and other settings on AWS EC2.

If you are using a different VPS other than Digital Oceans, Linode and AWS, you can check this post.
